The Life Of Cats Children's Picture Book

So in today's post I am featuring another addition to my children's picture book series.  The book is titled The Life Of Cats.  Did I tell you that I love cats?

Well I do, I love cats.  So with that being said, I had so much fun producing this book, I was smiling through the entire process!  I think I will do another book about cats in this series.

A Day At The Zoo Children's Picture Book

I published a few simple children's picture books last year. They were a bit shabby, each picture was accompanied with one word.  It was designed for children learning to read and to be able to link the pictures with the words.

To be honest I wasn't really proud of these books.  They were about 14 pages long and basically weren't selling.

With the knowledge I acquired producing my picture books this week I started redesigning these books.  The first being A Day At The Zoo and its been added to my MCJ Children's Picture Books Series.

Children's Picture Book Series Launched

I just completed producing my second children's picture book!  Wahoo!  It is titled:  The Life of

Black Dogs by Martina Jackson. The first book, titled The Life of Brown Dogs, was published a few days ago and is live on Amazon for kindle.  The paperback version is also published but it will take a few more days for it to be live on Amazon.  I will keep you posted on that!

For the first book, it was my initial intention to do a book about a beach dog.  But the pictures that I got are of different brown dogs so I decided to generalized the book.  I had so much fun doing it.  As I looked at each picture, I was inspired with the ideas for the sentences to insert under each picture.  Each book is approximately 30 pages long.

I got free images from Pixabay and used Google Advanced Image Search for images that are free and could be used commercially.

I am currently uploading the second book to Createspace and the next step is to upload it to Amazon KDP.

This has really been a learning process for me.  Here are a few of the processes that I had to do to complete the books:

• The images had to be formatted with a dpi of 300.  I use paint.net
• I learned how to create the back of my book cover
• I used Powerpoint to create the book interior and cover.  Its so easy"
• I finally got Kindle Kids Book Creator KKBC to work for me!
